Rose Winters, associate editor and co-contributor, is a documentary film producer. Her film, Finding Hearts at Peace, was recently purchased for broadcast in the Middle East. Ken Ross, Elisabeth's son, is photography editor and co-contributor of Tea with Elisabeth. His photographic work has been exhibited across the U.S., Japan, the Philippines, and Mexico. His first book, Real Taste of Life, was a collaborative effort with his mother.

Warm, rich and honest collection

Anyone wishing to know what the great Elisabeth Kubler-Ross was like as a human being and a mensch will be very moved to joy and tears by reading through the fifty-one contributions in this book. The writers of the essays range from her son Ken to Muhammad Ali to Caroline Myss to Marianne Williamson to Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York to Raymond Moody and many other good people. Pillars of the end-of-life movement and the hospice and palliative care field share reminiscences of the extremely hard working wunderkind and down-to-earth saint. No baloney. It is well worth the investment. Read it a little at a time whenever you can or whenever you need a lift. It is a great bedside reader, at night or early to rise. Savor this woman's grand purpose and set your own a bit straighter.

Worthy in-depth memories of EKR. Moved me to tears several times.

I was one of the lucky folks who knew EKR quite well...between
the early l990's and her death. I had many cups of tea with her,
spent nights in her home, etc.
This book brought back many memories..the shopping trips, the
humor, the anger, the brilliance, and the sheer power of her being.
Even though I was working all weekend when I got it, I couldn't
put it down until I'd read very word. (I introduced the 51st chapter author to EKR so received it as a gift. But its well
worth the cover price.)
Whether you knew her or not, this wonderful book brings one of the greatest women of our time to life in a down-to-earth approachable style.
I think Elisabeth would have liked it.
Its not a "phony baloney." Its the real thing.
Hats off to her son, and other friends who took on the project and brought it to completion.
A treasure of a book. I'm 2000 miles away, and would love to
go to the book signing in Arizona. Prudence wins out, but I'd
love to be there!
Highly recommended.

A comfort book

In an era when we are bombarded with gratuitous violence and sex, "The Puritans" is a welcome respite. While it may be Christian historical fiction, please don't think that plot and character have been sacrificed. In fact, Cavanaugh does a superb job of creating characters we really care about, and the plot is anything but predictable. Plus, all this is happening in front of an historically accurate setting. It's just nice to sit down with a good book that you know isn't going to surprise you with a lot of unnecessary vulgarity, violence, or sex. I intend to read the entire series.

Great Christian fiction

What a great book. Not only did it have action and romance, but it was inspiring. But the best part was the fictional character of Drew Morgan, who started out with no knowledge of Christ, to a strong, dedicated Christian.
It is nice to have fiction that has a meaning and is hard to put down. This book has both!

One of my Favorite Books

I've read a number of Jack Cavanaugh's books, but this one is special. Cavanaugh writes about Drew Morgan, a young man hired by Bishop Laud in 1629 England to spy on the Puritans. But Drew is unexpectedly touched by the spiritual curate Christopher Mathews, and he is drawn to his daughters as well. He admires Nell for her spirituality and her intelligence, and Jenny for her vivaciousness and her love of life.

But loyalties to Bishop Laud have to come first. This creates problems and tensions. The last portion of the book takes place in the American Colonies. be prepared for a breathtaking, powerful conclusion.

This is Cavanaugh's first book and so far, by a narrow margin, I would have to say that it is his best.

L'autore ha scritto un romanzo che racconta che la croce non era il desiderio di Dio e questo sostenuto sulla base della fede tradizionale cattolica. L'autore mostra una sua profonda fede e amore per la Chiesa Cattolica. Tutti i personaggi hanno un'ottima fede e grande personalit�. I problemi vengono risolti tramite la preghiera e la fede nei miracoli.
Sembra che l'autore si identifichi in ci� che scrive. Ottimo!

Highly recommended!

I was fortunate enough to get this in the sale - it's none too cheap at full price - but even at that price, it's an excellent read.

This is not a straight biography or autobiography. Sarah Picton found a writer, Joanne Jowell, to help write her story, a story of surviving bipolat disorder and bulimia. So far, so conventional. However the book is more than just a straightforward retelling of the story from one perspective. Joanne's intejections, her struggle to pin Sarah down, her observations, are as key to the book as the many passages from Sarah's own point of view. Joanne also includes material gleaned from Sarah's friends, family, and the people who have helped her and treated her for her eating disorder. The book becomes much more than the sum of its parts, and gives a real insight into one young woman's struggle, the things she has learned, the changes she has made, the challenges she has faced and still faces.

Although I am not bulimic, I found I could identify with and learn from Sarah. Sarah and Joanne have crafted a brave, incredibly readable, frequently moving memoir. There were several points that moved me to tears. You don't need to be or know a bulimic to get a lot out of this story, though I'm sure people with eating disorders will find it at least as absorbing and possibly very helpful. Highly recommended.

Scarily good

I was amazed by this book. I picked it up at a friends house and could not put it down. The way the author tells this story and deals with the complexity of the illness is really well done.The characters especially the main one are fascinating. Read it - highly recommended.

Excellent book. The author has great insight into the family dynamics, relationships, challenges and the roller-coaster life of Sarah as she deals with her illness and her life. The reader is swept up in the ride. A MUST READ.
